Hon. Joseph Edionwele : On a Mission to Make Life Better for Nigerians

Hon. Edionwele
JOSEPH EDIONWELE, member representing Esan Central Federal Constituency Edo State. He is well cut out for
the job of a lawmaker. . Joe Edionwele is born to the family of Edionwele of Idumu-Ogo of Iruekpen, Esan Central LGA of Edo state. He graduated as an Accountant from the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi.

As a man who has also managed men and resources at different capacities, a onetime Local Govt. Chairman and also the Zonal Secretary of the South-South Peoples Democratic Party PDP, with these credentials; he was equipped for the role of a federal legislator.

Also, for his contributions toward the building of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Edo State, especially, in Esan Kingdom, this gave him the nod to vie for the seat of the House of Representatives, which he contested and won.

On what is his mission in National Assembly? Hon. Edionwele said that his mission in the House of Representatives is to make laws to improve the condition of living of his good people in particular and Nigerians at large. Today, those promises are beginning to yield dividends of democracy to his people and Nigerians.

Hon. Joseph has moved the motions on the floor of the House to look into critical areas that affect the ordinary Nigerian the most, which are; the accrued Housing Fund and the fraudulent extortion from employment seekers by government agencies and their recruitment firms.

It could be recalled, the sum of #1,000 was extorted from Nigerian unemployed graduates by Nigeria Immigration Services that resulted to stampede and death of so many promising and future leaders of Nigeria, by the proxy agencies that conducted the exercise.

Edionwele also appealed to the House to look into the issue of National Housing Fund that has become a conduit pipe for government agencies to rip off its employees, He recalled since the establishment of it in 1992 to enable every Nigerian to have access to decent and affordable housing, so many Nigerians under this scheme have died without utilizing this benefit of getting a house of their own.

Not only this, the banks where these deductions are remitted to have not come out to declare the monies and interest accrued from these deductions. Edionwele appealed to the House to look into this and make a law that forbids sales of job vacancies and money extortion from the Nigerian unemployed youths.

Another issue that is endearing JP as he is fondly called by his associates and well wishers, is the speed attention he is giving to the crisis erosion that have ravaged Eguare / Ehanle In Ewu Kindgom and Ibore reclaimable gully erosion in his constituency.

These enormous challenge posed by the ferocious erosion has wiped away houses, clans, communities and properties worth billions of naira. Past representatives of Esan Central Constituent have used the challenge as a campaigning point, but after victory, the representatives leave the people to their hardship, agonies and frustration.

Today, the story of these places are changing as a God-sent in the person of Edionwele is seriously working to address the urgent and most devastating needs of the people.

Joseph Edionwele is deeply concerned about the welfare of his people, this principled, dynamic and focused politician, appealed to his dear people to be patience, “ I am aware there has been a big night of darkness, but, what is coming now is the light that everyone will see and appreciate” he says.
