Boundary Dispute: Adadama Warriors Attack Ebonyi Community, Behead one, Shoot Another



The age-long border crisis existing between the
people of Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state and Adadama community of Cross River state weekend turned bloody following the alleged invasion of Amagu community in Ikwo LGA by Adadama warriors.
The invasion according to reports led to beheading of one Mr Uche Ossinye who hails from a neighbouring community, Ochienyim in Ikwo local govt area of Ebonyi State. Vanguard gathered that Adadama people on December 1, 2015 invaded the Ochienyim community between the periods of 10 and 11 am resulting in the mutilation and beheading of the deceased
It was learned that the quick intervention of the police prevented the beading of more victims as the Police officers securing the Ikwo communities gave the attackers a hot chase and at the process, a suspect, one Odom Nwusanya, still from Ochienyim community  was shot on the leg.
However, as at press time, Vanguard investigation is yet to ascertain if there were any casualty on the side of Adadama community. Meantime, Commissioner of police, Ebonyi State, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah who visited the wife of the deceased with her two children few days after the incident told the villagers not to take laws into their hands, but to ensure they work closely with the policemen posted to their area for security purposes
She also told them to stay away from the buffer zone until it has been demarcated assuring that the federal government was working assiduously to ensure the demarcation affected area.
The Commissioner of Police it was gathered made some monetary donations to the widow of the deceased. Recall also that on Saturday, October 24, 2015, that the Adadama warriors allegedly invaded Ikwo villages and were confronted by the security operatives which resulted in a heavy shoot-out between the duo.
It was reported that in the course of the brawl, a police officer was shut on the shoulder while the Adadama warriors succeeded in penetrating into Ochienyim village where they destroyed houses and even set some ablaze. We gathered that the police officer who was given first aid at the Ochienyim village was later transferred to the police clinic at the headquarters for proper treatment.
