Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu on Sunday in Enugu State disclosed that the upper chamber of the National Assembly would... reconvene from its recess once it receives signal that President Muhammadu Buhari is ready with his ministerial list.
Ekweremadu, who spoke when the Enugu Zonal Management of Nigerian Television Authority paid him a courtesy visit, said the upper chamber of the National Assembly would also suspend its break once there is a matter requiring their urgent attention.
According to Ekweremadu, “though we are on recess, most of us are very much around doing other legislative duties. Therefore, if the need arises, we will quickly reconvene to give Nigerians the service we were elected to offer; especially if the ministerial list is sent by the President”.
The lawmaker, who represents Enugu West senatorial zone, insisted that the Senate will at all times put the interest of Nigerians first.
