Sen. Paulker worries over Bayelsans mass Defection to APC

The Senator representing Bayelsa Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Emmanuel Paulker, has lamented the exit of notable
members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Paulker said this at the weekend during a thanksgiving reception to mark his victory at the poll.

He described the crisis in the PDP as worrisome, recalling that a similar incident at the centre cost the party the Presidency.
Paulker stressed that he remained a PDP member, hinting that he was working with the leadership of the party to bring the defectors back to the fold.

He said: “As a politician, definitely, l am not comfortable, especially as regards the calibre of people that left my party, the PDP. I am not comfortable. When you are bitten by a snake, you will jump when you see a lizard cross your path.

“I am saying this because of my knowledge of what happened to us at the centre, which began with the exit of the five governors and it took quite some time to put ourselves together. Before we got ourselves together, election was around the corner and you all know what happened. It is history now.”

On the pressure being mounted on him to contest the PDP governorship primaries, Paulker, who declared that he has no disagreement with Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, stated that he was consulting still on his governorship ambition and would soon make his stand known to the public.
He said nobody should worry over his ambition because, as a citizen and a party member, he has the right to pursue his political aspirations.
