Why I Ditched Nyako for Atiku

Governor Muhammad Jibrilla of Adamawa State has
opened up on why he shifted political allegiance to former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

Jibrilla, who played host to Jimeta community elders, said he shifted his loyalty to Atiku because he identified with his cause by donating N500 million to his governorship campaign.

The governor, however, accused some powerful politicians of attempting to smear his image because he refused to do their bidding, adding that he is an independent minded individual who is in the pursuit of a common interest.

National lifewatch  learnt that the district head of the Jimeta did not lead the delegation, as is the tradition.

The development was said to be due to an apparent controversy ‎surrounding his seat with an elder calling for his removal.

“Apart from the money from the headquarters, nobody gave me N10 during the campaign. The former vice president asked me if we had any financial problem. So, I called the party secretary, Abdullahi Bakari who put our demand at N300 million. Then, the vice president sent me N500 million through Jauro.”’
