I Want my Own Share of the Oil Money - Buhari

By: Luka  Hassan

Finally, the much talked about and expected ministerial list that will set President Mohammadu Buhari’s government on the
move have finally been released after four months of ultimate search for ‘honest Nigerians’ that have not travel to another planet by Mr. President which have put the nation on a stand still.

Already, the delay by Mr. President to set up his cabinet has taken its toll on the economy, this I believe accounts for the failure of the President to have any concrete achievement within his one hundred days in office. Instead the president denied ever making campaign promises that he will achieve any set goals within one hundred days in office despite the fact that document within the archive of APC secretariat state the contrary.

According to a statement, “There is a certain document tagged “One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days” and the other, “My Covenant with Nigerians.” The lies by Mr. President in rejecting this document only shows that he is a typical Africa (especially Nigeria) politician who was only hungry for power and capitalized on the porous political ignorance of the electorate to spread cheap promises to hunch on to power.

One disturbing phenomenon about the appointment of the “noise makers” by the ‘holier than thou’ President is that he has included himself among the “noise makers list” as the President and minister of noise makers for the ministry of petrol because according to him out of the more than 170 million Nigerians non can be trusted to holistically and honestly man the money spinning stream other than himself.

Since President Buhari is interested in serving the nation with the last minute strength of his fleeting breathe before taking a bow he should have make himself the minister of labour where he will be able to fulfill his campaign promise of creating jobs for the increasingly teaming labour market. Better still, he should have made himself the minister of defense to help in bringing to pass his promise of ending the Boko Haram menace in three months, if the president had gone to this ministries, (defense and labour) Nigerians and indeed the world would have taken him serious and he would have being seen as the president for the down trodden.

I have said it time without number that president Buhari is an extremist on morality who believes that nobody can do it better than him. I meant President Buhari believes that he can brush your teeth for you better than you do; in fact he even believes that the way you go to the comfort station to defecate he can do it better than you. Bottom-line, the president lacks trust for his party members, the opposition party, Nigerians and even his pet, this flaw is not the quality of a true leader because it is said “a tree cannot make a forest.”

Assuming the office of petroleum ministry shows the greedy nature of Buhari because there are many trustworthy Nigerians that can fill this post. It is obvious that Buhari is suffering from myopic and paranoid syndrome with nothing to show for yet.

With the enormous responsibility of administering a country with all the MDAs, defense, foreign affairs, internal affairs and oversight over all the 36 states and plethora of policy and law making not forgetting his septuagenarian condition, President Buhari is blindly adding more weight to his bending spinal cord.

President Buhari is a man that even the devil knows that he has serious issues when it comes to education and certificate, on this premise, one can judge that he is not a technocrat when it comes to the petroleum sector. What President Buhari is telling the world is that all the technocrats who have been in the petroleum industry out of the 170 million people in this country are not competent for him to pick one person? This man has serious trust issues and playing in a team which are key expected competencies of a good leader.

Since the president came on board, this self centeredness in him has been speaking loudly mostly from the areas of his appointments and giving of juicy or sensitive positions to his northern cohorts.

Well, it is obvious that the new sheriff has an iron will for greed and sectionalism, it will be more useful to channel this will to at least ameliorating Nigeria’s obvious problems of unity and cohesion, corruption, job creation and security. Giving solutions to these will be better than lopsided appointments at the expense of national interest.

We at National Lifewatch believes that if Mr. President cannot solve these problems but curb the menace of Fulani herdsmen (his race) who like the devil are killing, kidnapping and destroying lives and properties all over Nigeria, he will be more respected for this, than trying to be Mr. ''only me be honest man.''
