Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, was on Tuesday declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary held in Yenagoa.
He was announced the winner by a member of the Adams Oshiomhole committee, Hon. Nelson Alapa.
Sylva won with a total of 726 votes with Warman Ogoriba coming a distant second with 10 votes. Chief Timi Alaibe had four votes.
Others are Chief Romeo 10 votes, Francis Ebite 6, Christopher Enai 5, Augustine Febor 1, Charity Vedelago 4, Dikivie Ikiogha 1, Ebitimi Amgbare 1, Imoro Kubor 1 with eight void votes.
Accepting his nomination, Sylva assured the people that he would not let them down.
He insisted that the APC has indeed won the election.
Sylva said: “When finally we win, we would sweep all garbage out of government.”
The man who came second, Ogoriba, conceded defeat on behalf of other aspirants.
He said election was free and fair.
