Divers found one and three Dead from Calabar-Ikom Rriver

Three people have been confirmed dead by local divers after a
taxi with four persons traveling from Obubra in Cross River State to Calabar, the state capital, plunged into a river along the Calabar-Ikom highway.
The incident reportedly happened on September 8th.
Report claims the taxi driver tried to avoid a head-on collision with a vehicle that had left its lane. The taxi driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, and plunged into the river, national lifewatch reports.
After a four-day search by local divers, bloated corpses of three commuters and the taxi were dragged out of the river on Saturday.
A 21-year-old female was said to have survived. The girl could not explain which side of the river the taxi plunged into, apart from saying ‘my boyfriend is inside’, so the local divers spent quite a couple of days until they found the taxi.
An eyewitness said, “It was on Saturday evening, after a fruitless search on the other side, that they decided to go to the other side of the river and that was where they located the taxi under the bridge and pulled it out.”
