Ugbesia, Itula and Ikhariale, Eight Wasted Years in National Assembly.

Election of representatives at both state and federal level are seen as platforms for those represented to have their voices heard, their aspirations actualized and also gain the benefit of good representation and dividends of democracy.

However, this has not been the lot of the Edo people especially, Esan Central Constituency, in view of the poor representation they have had over the years, especially, in the federal level the people have gravely determined to use their power to speak to show the way forward.

Records have shown that this mayhem of poor representation got to its peak during the tenures of the following past Senators Prof. Osunbor, Odion Ugbesia, Friday Itula and Patrick Ikhariale to mention but a few. Investigations conducted by National Lifewatch magazine and online reporters clearly shows that the above mentioned Senators and House of Reps members did not represent their people as deserved but rather spent their eight years in the national assembly to feather their nest.

National lifewatch grassroots interview with the Esan people both Home and Diaspora revealed that this accounted for the constituency’s rejection of their continual representation of the people despite their earnest maneuver to do so. “if someone represents his constituency and people very well like Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Ndoma Egba and Sen. Kabiru Gaya did, he won’t need to beg his people to keep representing them, they have failed us that is while we reject their continual representation” lamentation poor Widow Mrs. Osamoje.

Following this continuous misrepresentation, the Constituency has put a distress call to the new senators representing her in persons of Senator Clifford Ordia, Hon. Joseph .E. Edionwele, and Ogun Sargius Oseasochie to brass up and brings the much needed dividends of democracy to the constituency.

Top on their list of priority is the immediate reconciliation of all Esan sons and daughters towards unity, progress and development as this is the bedrock of development.

Also to ensure that within this tenure of four years, Esan sons and daughters that are qualified are assisted and helped to secure gainful employment without marginalization or favor.

Furthermore, that all projects ranging from construction of road, electrification of communities and provision of social amenities are influence and lobby for the constituencies and the people

In addition that as a matter of urgency, the gullible erosion that have splinted Ewu Kingdom apart is addressed without using it as campaigning bait that was never executed by past representatives. The Lawmakers were also adviced actively get involved in national discuss that will give the region and people a voice in the scheme of things.

In conclusion, that from time to time, there should be periodic review on all achievements, projects influenced or executed personally to the people by the representing lawmakers

It is no longer news that the Edo people know what effective political representation is all about and with the privilege of the freedom of information Act at work; much room to effectively monitor public office representative is now at out the finger tip.
